There are so many rules about writing. Most of them are ingrained deep in your brain, so while you may not be able to describe what a misplaced modifier* is, you know one when you see it.
To help you recall some of the often-broken rules and avoid many of the most common writing mistakes, we created the WordKraft Better Writing Style Guide. It includes information about words that are often confused with one another, proper punctuation usage and suggestions regarding proofreading.
The Guide also offers advice drawn from our writing improvement seminar. Attendees learn about “The Four Cs of Writing,” helping them to make their writing correct, concise, compelling and clear.
Contact us and ask for a free copy of the Guide. If your need is urgent, request the PDF via email. But if you can wait a few days, provide your mailing address and we’d be glad to send you the much nicer print version. It’s made to fit in your file drawer so you can find it quickly when you need to decide whether your new hair style will "affect" or "effect" your appearance.
The Better Writing Style Guide is WordKraft’s way of doing our part to make writing better, one writer at a time.
*This example of a misplaced modifier makes the reader wonder whether it was the burger or Osgood who was covered in onions.

"Smothered in onions, Osgood enjoyed his Mister Bulgy's Double Deluxe Cheeseburger Supreme."
